Camille the Little Rascal – In the Grown-Ups’ World

◷ 21 September 2026 – 4 October 2026⌖ Θέατρο Μίκης Θεοδωράκης

Originally published by Slalom, Camille’s stories later found a new home at Glénat Jeunesse. The French editions include delightful volumes such as Dans la cour des grands and À la vie, à la morve, which quickly won over French-speaking readers with their clever humour.

Behind the comic’s success is a close-knit artistic duo who also happen to share their lives outside their creative work. Camille Osscini, originally from Marseille, draws her inspiration from her own everyday experiences, her childhood memories and her relationship with her daughter, Tess. She transforms real family moments into stories with remarkable naturalness.

Sess is an acclaimed French illustrator and comic artist based in Paris. He is particularly known for his distinctive, seemingly naïve drawing style and soft watercolour palettes. He also contributes to well-known French children's magazines, including Astrapi. He is a member of The Ink Link, a collective of comic artists who collaborate with humanitarian organisations and NGOs to create informative illustrations.

Little Camille, the story's central character, is the ultimate little rascal. She has boundless energy, a heart of gold and a mind constantly overflowing with unexpected questions. Her defining characteristic is that she never minces her words. She always says exactly what she thinks, and her spontaneous observations and innocent childhood questions often leave her parents in terribly awkward situations, leading to hilarious moments.

The book unfolds through short, self-contained episodes filled with lively, fast-paced humour. Each page captures the dynamics of a modern family that simply doesn't know the meaning of boredom, with extraordinary tenderness. Camille transforms even the simplest, most routine moment into an unexpected adventure, naturally with the help of her sister Pauline, their dog and their cat.

Sess's illustrations perfectly complement the writing, bringing expressive characters and a wonderful sense of movement to every page, captivating readers from beginning to end. The lively Greek translation of the comic is the work of Giannis Iatrou and Anna Botsou.

Camille the Little Rascal is a whirlwind of childhood imagination and genuine family love. It strikes a beautiful balance between spontaneous laughter and touching moments, inviting adults to smile at memories of their own childhood while allowing younger readers to see themselves in its irresistible heroine.
