Her grandfather tries to explain the world to her comparing it to the story of Minotaur – Łódź becomes an ancient labyrinth and the Nazis – a monster from the myth. A subtle combination of dramatic World War II events with Greek mythology which depicts the suffering and drama of the time with a large dose of sensitivity.

On a small sunny hill, an old shepherd milks his giant birds, perched on long stilts. He collects a gigantic drop of milk in a bucket in which a jewel is hidden. The little shepherd returns home and pours the contents of his bucket into a pot over the fire. On the edge of the windows and on his workshop are placed small cheeses. He retrieves the jewel and sticks it in one of his cheeses. The eye of a giant creature passes in front of his window and the little shepherd leaves his house towards his cart, a crate full of cheeses in his arms.
