Tribute to Ilan Manouach Works by the great artist Ilan Manouach, which are an occasion to create discussions and reflections. Exhibition for 10 years of Kare-Kare Kare Kare, an insert of the "Efimerida ton Sydakton" dedicated to comics, completing 10 years of print and online publication, presents a selection of works by many artists who passed through it. Tribute to Popeye Focusing on Bud Sagendorf's Popeye volumes published by Mikros Heros, we await you in an exhibition dedicated to the paper career of the world's most famous sailor. The entire evolution of Popeye is captured in a series of characteristic moments of the comics we met in Greece. Using collage, sketch and text tools, you draw a narrative image from an imaginary future of an open space. Each person gradually creates their canvas, capturing concepts appearing randomly during the workshop. *Participation in all workshops is free. SprAY, Taiwan, SHIUE-JEN CHANG 03:45 Women constantly carry a subtle sense of fear, no matter how cautious they may be. From heading out to work in the morning to walking the dark streets late at night, every step is filled with tension, with the flickering streetlights illuminating this apprehension. 3. Kasang Alun, India, Krishnabh Thengal 06:36 The film opens up in a Karbi (a tribe of Assam, India) household with an elderly lady, Kasang (protagonist of the film) singing the local folklore Sabin Alun (Karbi Ramayana) along with doing her daily chores. Her granddaughter hears her singing and asks her to narrate the story to her and her cousins in the house. Soon, Kasang starts narrating the local epic to her grandchildren. She enjoys narrating it as she gains a couple of little audiences. However all her listeners doesn’t have similar attention span and one leaves the company soon. Will the other kids be able to retain their interest to listen to their granny’s story till the end or Kasang’s song will remain incomplete? 4. From character design to every individual flower, the essence of Uttarakhand is captured, both in terms of inspiration and in stylizing the original art form, such as the Aipan style of the state. Prioritizing simplicity in terms of animation while still holding to its authenticity, the film breathes life into not just the human characters but also the landscapes. The spirits of the mountains, depicted in the film, echo the mystique and warmth inherent in every Pahadi (people from Mountains). With its stylized backdrops, “Phool Dei'' captures the grandeur of Uttarakhand’s landscapes and the genuine spirit of its people. With themes of change, adventure, magic, and the undeniable force of nature, “Phool Dei” is both a tribute to Uttarakhand’s traditions and a poignant commentary on the challenges it faces. Back when fairy tales entertained, taught and offered fairy tales (comfort) to young and old. Fear is a basic human emotion found in all societies and is reflected in various forms of terror in local, folk myths, traditions, narratives, fairy tales. Unsatisfied curiosity, existential angst and anxiety about the unknown gives way to scary fairy tales and horror stories. The Waves, Canada, Julie Gauthier, Eric St-Gelais (03:03) With « Les vagues» (The waves), we invite you on a trip to the beach with Atchoum and her friends. She’ll meet a troop of dancing crabs and starfish enthusiasts of synchronized swimming. All presented in paper cut out stop motion animation, under a radiant sun, in an atmosphere reminiscent of a hot summer day! 2. Psycho, Greece, Thodoris Sarafis, (02:28) Based on Dario Fo's "Steal a bit Less", this animated music video is a political satyre and it means no offence or disrespect to the actual mentally challenged people of the world.In an asylum for mentally challenged people, the loonies are singing about all the new behaviors they are being taught to be able to be reintegrated into society. 3. Pentastic(I, Sai), India, Nilanjan Chowdhury, (05:20) The music video is a part of Rahul Sridhar’s concept album - "I, Sai" which traverses the journey of a person with the question “Who am I?”. While reminiscing about his past, he starts looking for absolute truths that would transcend all transient happiness and misery, and eventually finds everything he needs in music. The protagonist’s story is linearly narrated via 6 tracks set in different genres catering to different emotions he experiences. “Pentastic”, the 3rd song in the album storyline, is a quirky song split into three parts, signifying the three states - deep sleep, dream, and waking, and how the protagonist is searching in all three states for something he has lost. By the end of the song, he realizes that all three states are in essence one, which is highlighted visually and aurally by the main commonality in the states, which is the search itself. This is followed by an intense inward journey in the rest of the songs in the album. 4. ZÈN TAN, France, ETIENNE GUIGNARD, (3:54) In a metaphorical world, a man finds his inner child, his joy and innoncence, but also his greatest fear : being separated from him again. 5. Streetlight People, Australia, Emily Pink Dwyer, (2:25) Emily Pink is an animator and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia, with big ideas and a love of all things spooky or cartoon. Streetlight People is their first solo film, made as their thesis film for their Bachelor of Animation, in collaboration with Sinner’s Heist, the musicians behind the titular song. 8.Blossoming in the mist, Iran, Islamic Republic of, Soroush Dianati, (4:03) 9.Happy Birthday, Greece, Naya Filaou, (3:58) A lullaby gently guides us to a stage of theater, where the tale of a puppet unfurls. Navigating past the shackles it imposes, and the daunting specter of time, we venture forth into each ensuing chapter, embraced by all and everything we hold dear. 10. Help Yourself, France, Mayrton Ouitusisa, Lucas Ponzio, Maé Almayrac, Margaux Latapie, Romane Dejardin, (4:46) Mat, a fast-food waiter, discovers by chance that he is a fictional character, a simple secondary character in an action series, in which Hari, a flamboyant defender of Justice, plays the main role. But Mat, who can now see the future events of the script, knows that she is bound to die. He will try to warn her, to defy the odds of the script… 12. Coloratura, Canada, Mario Contreras, (2:25) Coloratura is a cartoon based on the minimal style of the UPA animation, mixing art, animation and jazz to create a symphony as the main character, Artie, bumps into different musical instruments. 13. Dawn, Greece, Valasia Dodulu, (7:21) "Dawn" is an animated music video created by Valasia Dodulu, for Manolis Christodoulou's new music album. It is about the need to look for hope in the dark times of war. A child's tears and a paper boat will travel until the dawn will come again. 14. Abubilla, Spain, Rafael Vidal Vidal Altabert, Julián Gómez Caballero, (2:44) Abubilla is a bird that lives happily in the Maravilla forest with all the animals. But one day the hand of man endangers his environment and he talks to the moon so that together they can sow life into his world. 15. As long as your legs last, Brazil, Alisson Thiago do Nascimento, (1:49) "As Long as Your Legs Last" by Alisson Thiago do Nascimento, is an animation in sequential format - frame by frame. Where it narrates the daily life of the protagonist Alisson, waking up, drinking his coffee and going skateboarding through city. The culture that surrounds the Skateboarding universe is an open field. Initially in its practice and for its use of the city's elements, whether for its value as an immaterial object, whether in the relationship of individual and collective competition, these enhance creativity and the identity process, in different areas and languages.The production of this animation is a reflection of my life, in which, there is already 15 years that I see, consume, practice and produce in the world of Skateboarding. As Long as Your Legs Last uses the fragile universe of art, which consisted of creation of 1032 drawings for a sequential narrative, of everyday life life, presenting some maneuvers that took me years to learn and execute. In this animation, Skateboard is mine life and I will practice as far as my legs last. 18. Zizanizzz, France, Nicolas Bianco-Levrin, (1:47) A sheet of music was left on a composer's work desk. A music-loving fly comes to place its paw there. She twirls and begins to sow discord. At the other end, a spider does not intend to miss such a great opportunity to feast.
