Stories from the Waiting Room – A Comic About Women with Cancer
*Stories from the Waiting Room* is a comic exploring the experience of cancer, based on material gathered through interviews with women who have survived the disease. Created by Georgia Zachari in collaboration with Eyes of Light, it is published by Metaichmio Publications.
On Saturday, September 26, another special presentation took place, featuring three remarkable women and an equally remarkable comic: *Stories from the Waiting Room*, a graphic novel about women living with cancer, created in collaboration with Eyes of Light – Art in Health and published by [Metaichmio Publications](https://www.facebook.com/ekdoseis.metaixmio).
Philologist Eleftheria Vagionaki, psychotherapist Despoina Spyridonos and illustrator [Georgia Zachari](https://www.facebook.com/georgia.zachar) came together to talk about cancer. Eleftheria shared her personal experience, Despoina spoke about trauma, and Georgia discussed the creation of the comic.
A deeply moving and powerful presentation about an illness whose very name we are often afraid to say out loud, yet one that exists all around us: in our loved ones, our children, our friends, and even ourselves.
And when we share our experiences, the burden becomes lighter.
Eleftheria, Despoina, Georgia, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
