LIVE YOUR MYTH – A Pop-Up Comic About Tourism

Playing with what is visible and what remains hidden, with appearances and what lies behind the scenes, we observe the environment and social life of a tourist island through the eyes of one of its inhabitants. We discover how both are inextricably and suffocatingly intertwined with tourism.

Through pop-up mechanisms, each image reveals two perspectives, two layers. The first presents the myth, the famous promise of “Live Your Myth in Greece”. But when this layer is removed, what remains is the image of a harsh reality.

An opportunity to discuss the impact of tourism on our local communities, as well as the creative and interactive ways in which such reflections can be expressed through comics.
