But eternal life isn't for free. The last flame in the row notices that with every new adult, candles on a cake are dying out. He points this out to the flames before him. One flame decides to take off its bulb and keep its candle alive, but it dies out trying this. The last flame isn't waiting for anyone, he grabs his last candle and he runs home. He meets his mother at home. She tries to convince it to give lightbulbs a chance. The mother is a lightbulb herself and she tries to stop her child. But the flame isn't listening to her and runs away. Lightbulbs follow him as he runs away from the town and continues its rampage. Anything he sees, he sets it on fire. The mother is worried about him. When it starts raining, she sneaks out of the town and saves her child right before he dies out completely. When Flame wakes up, he's a lightbulb. His mother calms him down and sits him down at the table. She brings out a birthday cake and she shows Flame that he can light the candles when nobody's looking. And that he can take off his bulb only for a second. One by one, they light all the candles.

Φοβάσαι; Φτιάξε μια ασπίδα από βιβλία, ένα σπαθί από παραμύθια, κάνε το φόβο σου σαΐτα και πέτα τον μακρυά! Τί είναι ο φόβος; Ο φόβος είναι ένα συναίσθημα του ανθρώπου που προκαλείται από τη συνειδητοποίηση ενός πραγματικού ή πλασματικού κινδύνου ή απειλής. Είναι ένας μηχανισμός που μας προστατεύει, είναι μια φυσιολογική αντίδραση του οργανισμού χωρίς να απαιτείται σκέψη. Πώς όμως μπορούμε να βοηθήσουμε τα παιδιά να εκφράσουν και να αντιμετωπίσουν τους φόβους τους; Τα βιβλία και τα παραμύθια είναι μια όμορφη λύση. Μέσα από αυτά τα παιδιά βρίσκουν ένα αποκούμπι, ενώ παράλληλα τα βοηθάνε να κρατάνε ανοιχτό το δίαυλο επικοινωνίας, κάνοντάς τα να νιώθουν ασφάλεια να μοιραστούν μαζί μας τα συναισθήματά τους και τις αγωνίες τους. The title also serves as a reminder of the significance that we should recognize and address the long-term effects of war on children. Η φιλόλογος Άννα Λαμπαρδάκη και η δημιουργός του κόμικ Εύα Πουλοπούλου μιλούν για το πρωτότυπο κόμικ «Του νεκρού αδερφού», το δημοφιλέστερο δημοτικό τραγούδι και τη σύνθεσή του σε κόμικ. Αφηγείται η ηθοποιός Μαρινέλλα Βλαχάκη.

Το δημοτικό τραγούδι Του Νεκρού Αδερφού είναι ένα από τα παλαιότερα αφηγηματικά τραγούδια των Βαλκανίων με την προέλευσή του να χάνεται στα βάθη των αιώνων. Τραγουδήθηκε σε εκδοχές με ενιαία θεματολογία βασισμένη στις κοινές ρίζες των λαών της περιοχής, αψηφώντας φυσικά σύνορα και πολιτισμικές διαφορές. Διαχρονικές ιδέες όπως η ιερότητα του όρκου, η δύναμη του θρήνου και της κατάρας, αντιλήψεις για τη ζωή στην ξενιτιά, αλλά και μαγικά στοιχεία όπως η νεκρανάσταση και τα πουλιά που μιλούν, συνθέτουν ένα στοιχειωμένο, συναρπαστικό παραμύθι. Απολαύστε το σε ένα έργο που συνδυάζει τον πλούτο της λαϊκής παράδοσης και την ιδιομορφία της γλώσσας του δημοτικού τραγουδιού, με τη σύγχρονη, άμεση και οικεία εικαστική γλώσσα των κόμικς. Στην παρουσίαση θα γινει μια αναφορά στον τρόπο με τον οποίο τα comics και τα graphic novels αναπαριστούν και αναδιαμορφώνουν τα πρότυπα του γυναικείου φύλου. Θα εξεταστεί η επίδραση των γυναικείων μαχητικών χαρακτήρων στην ευρύτερη κοινωνία και πολιτισμό.

Overall, it is about showing how designers tackle challenges and find great solutions.

Το έργο Democracy Panels είναι η πρώτη πρωτοβουλία της ομάδας ΓΡΑΦΕΙΝ και στοχεύει στο σχεδιασμό και την υλοποίηση δράσεων που προάγουν την αξία της αλληλεγγύης και της ενεργής συμμετοχής των νέων στην κοινωνία. Η μεθοδολογία του έργου δίνει έμφαση στη δυνατότητα των μελών της ομάδας να αναδείξουν, μέσα από τη δική τους οπτική, τα κύρια προβλήματα/προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν οι νέοι της πόλης και να σχεδιάσουν δράσεις για να ενεργοποιήσουν τους συνομήλικούς τους προς την κατεύθυνση της αντιμετώπισης αυτών των προβλημάτων/προκλήσεων.

Μια ενδιαφέρουσα συζήτηση για τον Νίκο Καζαντζάκη, τη σύλληψη, τη δημιουργία, και τη σύνθεση του Αντώνη Νικολόπουλου (Soloúp).

Ο Soloúp στο graphic novel «ΖΟRΜΠΑΣ, πράσινη πέτρα ωραιοτάτη» δεν κάνει μια απλή μεταφορά αλλά επιχειρεί να επαναφηγηθεί τα επεισόδια του συγκεκριμένου μυθιστορήματος. Επεμβαίνει στη ροή, αναδιατάσσει τις εμβόλιμες ιστορίες ενώ ταυτόχρονα προσπαθεί ν΄αποφύγει τα ισχυρά στερεότυπα του κινηματογραφικού Ζορμπά. Ακολουθώντας έτσι το πνεύμα του καζαντζακικού κειμένου, προτείνει μια νέα αφήγηση λόγου και εικόνας, ένα νέο ταξίδι, φιλοσοφικό, γκροτέσκο, τραγικό, στον σύγχρονο αναγνώστη. Ο Massimo De Vita είναι συνυφασμένος με την χρυσή εποχή των κόμικς με τους ήρωες της Disney. Συνδιαμορφωτής της σύγχρονης εκδοχής ηρώων όπως ο Ινδιάνα Γκούφυ, ο Φάντομ Ντακ και ο Σούπερ Γκούφυ, ο Ιταλός καλλιτέχνης βρίσκεται πίσω από το σχέδιο κλασικών ιστοριών που αφήσαν εποχή, όπως «Το Σπαθί των Πάγων», «Η Ζωδιακή Πέτρα», «Η Εποποιία του Νέου Κόσμου», «Τα Ημερολόγια του Σερ Μίκυ» και άλλων πολλών. Θα προσπαθήσουμε να καλύψουμε το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του έργου και της ζωής του, σε αυτήν την δίωρη ζωντανή συζήτηση με έναν θρύλο των ιταλικών κόμικς.

Manga: το παρελθόν, το παρόν και το μέλλον των ιαπωνικών κόμικς

Σήμερα, τα manga έχουν κατακτήσει τον κόσμο. Από τις διεθνείς πωλήσεις των κόμικς όπου κυριαρχούν στην αναγνωρίσιμη αισθητική τους που απαντάται σε ρούχα, έπιπλα, gadgets ακόμα και σε άλλες Τέχνες πέρα της Ένατης, η επιρροή των ιαπωνικών κόμικς είναι αδιαμφισβήτητη. Τι είναι όμως τελικά τα manga; Πως συνδέονται με τον ευρύτερο ιαπωνικό πολιτισμό; Τι οδήγησε στην δημιουργία και την διάδοσή τους; Ποιοι είναι οι σημαντικοί σταθμοί στην ιστορία τους; Και γιατί τελικά έχουν μεγάλα μάτια;

Έπειτα από τη δημιουργία του βιβλίου μας με τον Δημήτρη Αβραμόπουλο HELLASS BOOK, ενός mix-and-match book, αποφασίσαμε πως η χαρά και το κέφι κατά τη δημιουργία του ήταν τέτοια που θα ήταν εξαιρετικά εγωιστικό αν δεν μοιραζόμασταν τα μυστικά της δημιουργίας του. Στόχος του εργαστηρίου θα είναι να μοιραστούμε αυτές τις πληροφορίες που συγκεντρώσαμε κατά τη διάρκεια της δημιουργίας του εντύπου και παράλληλα η δημιουργία ενός εντύπου από τους συμμετέχοντες έπειτα από το εργαστήριο. Η συγκεκριμένη διαδικασία πέρα από άφθονο γέλιο προωθεί με ιδιαίτερο τρόπο την συνεργασία, καθώς από τη δημιουργία χαρακτήρων προκύπτουν αμέτρητοι άλλοι συνδυασμοί τους οποίους οι συμμετέχοντες τοποθετούν έπειτα από συζήτηση. Το εργαστηρι φιλοδοξούμε να έχει την μορφή ενός συνεργατικού παιχνιδιού.

Ένα graphic novel “πινγκ πονγκ” 160+ σελίδων, χωρίς λόγια, που εξερευνά τον πόνο του παιδικού τραύματος και τα σημάδια της θεραπείας του χρόνου. Μια μέρα στη ζωή ενός κλόουν. Σκασμένα μπαλόνια και ονειροπολήσεις. Ένας λυπημένος κλόουν ταξιδεύει στις αναμνήσεις του αναζητώντας νόημα. Ένα ταξίδι στο μυαλό μιας βασανισμένης ψυχής που επιθυμεί μια απόδραση. Παρελθόν, παρόν και μέλλον συνδυάζονται σε ένα μωσαϊκό της ανθρώπινης κατάστασης. Οι αναμνήσεις μας κάνουν αυτό που είμαστε, διαμορφώνουν τη ζωή μας. Τελικά, το θέμα είναι πώς θα τα επιβιώσεις. Οι δημιουργοί κόμικ Τάσος Ζαφειριάδης και Θανάσης Πέτρου και ο σεναριογράφος και συγγραφέας Γιάννης Παλαβός συζητούν και παρουσιάζουν το ταξίδι του πτώματος, το οποίο επανεκδόθηκε το 2024.

Ένα μακάβριο σχόλιο για την αστική μοναξιά από τους δημιουργούς του Γρα- Γρου, Τάσο Ζαφειριάδη, Γιάννη Παλαβό και Θανάση Πέτρου. Σ’ ένα διαμέρισμα ανακαλύπτεται το πτώμα ενός ηλικιωμένου σε αποσύνθεση. Το γραφείο τελετών που αναλαμβάνει την κηδεία είναι υποχρεωμένο να περιμένει την κόρη του νεκρού, που λείπει στο εξωτερικό. Ένας υπάλληλος του γραφείου θα ξενυχτήσει το πτώμα εώς την άφιξη της κόρης. Το Πτώμα είναι η ιστορία δύο πτωμάτων – ενός σε χρόνο παρόντα κι ενός σε χρόνο μέλλοντα. Δύο περίπου ζωντανοί άνθρωποι καταφέρνουν, ο καθένας με τον τρόπο του, εκείνο που σ’ όλη τους τη ζωή ήθελαν: να επικοινωνήσουν. Ένα πικρά αισιόδοξο κόμικς. (από το οπισθόφυλλο του βιβλίου)

Ο Ιλάν Μανουάχ (γεν. 1980) είναι δημιουργός εννοιολογικών κόμικς, εκδότης, επιμελητής εκθέσεων και μεταδιδακτορικός ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Λιέγης έχοντας ολοκληρώσει τη διδακτορική του διατριβή στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Aalto. Είναι ιδρυτής του οργανισμού Echo Chamber με έδρα τις Βρυξέλλες και σκοπό την παραγωγή, υποστήριξη, τεκμηρίωση και καταγραφή ριζοσπαστικών καλλιτεχνικών πρακτικών στα σύγχρονα κόμικς καθώς και διευθυντής του διεθνούς ερευνητικού προγράμματος Futures of Comics με στόχο την ιστορική μελέτη των μεταλλάξεων της βιομηχανίας των κόμικς υπό την επίδραση των οικονομικών εξελίξεων, της παγκοσμιοποίησης και της τεχνολογικής προσιτότητας. Στο σύνολο του έργου του ερευνά τη γλώσσα και τις δυνατότητες του μέσου των κόμικς, την επεκτασιμότητα της χρήσης τους πέραν της παραδοσιακής λειτουργίας τους, το ιδεολογικό υπόβαθρο που χαρακτηρίζει εκδοτικές και μεταφραστικές πρακτικές, τις δυνατότητες για αποκεντρωμένη και ομαδική δημιουργία έργων κ.ά. Από τα δεκάδες έργα του, όλα φιλοτεχνημένα για να προκαλέσουν συζητήσεις και αναστοχασμούς με επίκεντρο τα κόμικς, ξεχωρίζει το Shapereader, ένα πειραματικό σύστημα απτικής ανάγνωσης κόμικς μέσω ιδεογραμμάτων (tactigrams) για ανθρώπους με μειωμένη όραση, το Katz, μια έμμεση συνομιλία με το Maus του Art Spiegelman μέσω της ρηξικέλευθης χειρονομιακής ιδιοποίησης και εσκεμμένης παραποίησής του, το TinTin Akei Kongo (Ο Τεν Τεν στο Κογκό), ένα πανομοιότυπο με τις εκδόσεις του Τεν Τεν  βιβλίο αλλά μεταφρασμένο στη λινγκάλα, τη γλώσσα που μιλιέται στο Κογκό και στην οποία η συγκεκριμένη περιπέτεια του Herge δεν είχε μεταφραστεί ποτέ για ευνόητους λόγους, το One Piece, αποτελούμενο από το σύνολο του δημοσιευμένου υλικού του δημοφιλούς manga σε έναν ενιαίο θηριώδη τόμο 21.540 σελίδων που μόνο ως εννοιολογικό, μη χρηστικό γλυπτό-θέαμα μπορεί να θεωρηθεί, ερχόμενο σε “σύγκρουση” με το περιεχόμενό του κ.ά.

Ο δάσκαλος Μανόλης Χατζηπαναγιώτου παρουσιάζει την πρώτη έκδοση της «Chaniartoon Press» το κόμικ «Ανάμεσά μας», μια συλλογική ανθολογία τρόμου, με 11 πρωτότυπες ιστορίες. Μια ανθολογία τρόμου, ένα κόμικ αφιερωμένο στον Μέγα Τρόμο που βρίσκεται «ανάμεσά μας» (όπως ο ομώνυμος τίτλος) και χαμηλόφωνα ψιθυρίζει στο αυτί μας πως βρίσκεται πάλι εδώ. (από το οπισθόφυλλο του βιβλίου)

Παρουσίαση του σπουδαίου δημιουργού Μanga Shintaro Kago!

Ο Shintaro Kago, γεννημένος το 1969 στο Τόκιο, είναι ο βασικότερος εκπρόσωπος του ero-guro και το έργο του κινείται ανάμεσα στο γκροτέσκο, το ερωτικό, το παράξενο και το αλλόκοτο. Οι ιστορίες του διακρίνονται από την συνεχή αποδόμηση της φόρμας των κόμικς και στην συνέχεια την ανασύνθεση της μέσω αφηγηματικών παραδοξοτήτων και απρόβλεπτων σεναριακών εκβάσεων, παίζοντας και δοκιμάζοντας ουσιαστικά το μυαλό του αναγνώστη. Κάτι τέτοιο γίνεται και στο βιβλίο του “Η Πριγκίπισσα του Αέναου Κάστρου”, που κυκλοφορεί από τις εκδόσεις Jemma Press. Σε αυτό γινόμαστε μάρτυρες μιας παράλληλης αφήγησης, δύο παράλληλων κόσμων και των αέναων διακλαδώσεων τους. Το βιβλίο αυτό, όπως αναφέρει και η επιμελήτριά του Μυρτώ Τσελέντη, κυκλοφόρησε ταυτόχρονα στην Ιαπωνική, την Ιταλική και την Αγγλική γλώσσα, κάτι πολύ σπάνιο για manga. Στο φεστιβάλ θα κάνει το ντεμπούτο του και το νέο manga του Shintaro Kago, “Οι Δώδεκα Αδερφές του Αέναου Κάστρου”, που θα κυκλοφορήσει από τις εκδόσεις Jemma Press.

Ένα workshop στο οποίο οι συμμετέχοντες θα φτιάξουν το δικό τους zine. Θα εξερευνησουμε τι κάνουν τα παραμύθια να είναι παραμύθια, τι τα κάνει αναγκαία για όλες τις ηλικίες και θα ξυπνήσουμε την φαντασία μας. Κατά την διάρκεια του εργαστηρίου, οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την δυνατότητα να γράψουν ή και να ζωγραφίζουν το δικό τους παραμύθι, το οποίο θα πάρουν μαζί τους στο τέλος. Ένα εργαστήρι κατάλληλο για κάθε ηλικία.

Στη διάρκεια του σεμιναρίου θα αναφερθούμε στα διάφορα στάδια δημιουργίας ενός κόμικς, ανάμεσα στα οποία είναι και ο χρωματισμός. Θα παρουσιάσουμε τα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά των χρωμάτων στις εικαστικές τέχνες, αλλά και τα ψηφιακά χρωματικά μοντέλα, ενώ θα γίνει αναφορά και σε βασικά υλικά παραδοσιακής ζωγραφικής. Στη συνέχεια θα παρουσιαστούν δείγματα ψηφιακού χρωματισμού στα οποία όμως ακολουθούνται παραδοσιακές τεχνικές, αλλά και δείγματα που έχουν δημιουργηθεί με παραδοσιακά μέσα.

Οι συγγραφείς Γιάννης Παλαβός και Τάσος Ζαφειριάδης, συν-σεναριογράφοι των κόμικς Το πτώμα (Jemma Press 2011) και Γρα-Γρου (Ίκαρος – Βραβείο Καλύτερου Κόμικς και Βραβείο Καλύτερου Σεναρίου στα Ελληνικά Βραβεία Κόμικς 2018), ξετυλίγει το νήμα της συνεργασίας τους με τον κόμιστα Θανάση Πέτρου για τη δημιουργία των δύο βιβλίων και συζητούν με τους συμμετέχοντες μια σειρά από ερωτήματα: Ποια είναι η σχέση της λογοτεχνίας με τα κόμικς; Πώς σκεφτόμαστε όταν γράφουμε για κόμικς και πώς όταν γράφουμε ένα διήγημα; Ποια είναι η φύση –και οι δυσκολίες– της συνεργασίας ενός σεναριογράφου κι ενός σχεδιαστή;Μέσα από πρακτικά παραδείγματα και τη συζήτηση των ερωτημάτων αυτών, οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να κατανοήσουν καλύτερα την περιπέτεια της σύλληψης και της δημιουργίας ενός κόμικ

Η έκθεση «Τα Μέσα και τα Έξω» σε επιμέλεια της Λουίζας Καραγεωργίου και του Γιάννη Κουκουλά παρουσιάζει επιλεγμένα έργα τους από το Καρέ Καρέ της Εφημερίδας των Συντακτών και προσκαλεί το κοινό σε μια ενδοσκόπηση λυτρωτικής αυτογνωσίας και αυτοσαρκασμού.

Η εικαστική Εικόνα των Ζωντανών Οπτικών

Παρουσίαση εικαστικού έργου με εστίαση στα Ζωντανά Οπτικά και την ζωγραφική. Αναλύονται τρόποι παραγωγής σχετικών καλλιτεχνικών έργων αλλά και εφαρμογών. Παράλληλα εξετάζονται εργαλεία παραγωγής τέτοιων έργων, όπως σχετικά λογισμικά (touch designer, vvvv, smode, open source κλπ.), κάμερες βάθους και σένσορες κίνησης, VR, ελεγκτές midi controllers, synthesizers, λογισμικά DAW, συσκευές ήχου κλπ. Εξετάζονται τρόποι παρουσίασης καλλιτεχνικού έργου (εγκαταστάσεις, προβολές, χαρτογραφικές προβολές, performances, VJing κλπ.).

Τα πρώτα ελληνικά κόμικς

Οπτικές της ελληνικής ταυτότητας σε αντίθεση με το αμερικάνικο πρότυπο της εποχής.
Κατα τη διάρκεια των σπουδών μου στη Γαλλία ήρθα σε επαφή με την ιστορία των ευρωπαϊκών κόμικς. Σε αυτά, κυρίαρχη θέση κατείχε φυσικά η Γαλλο-βελγική σχολή. Οι αναφορές στα ελληνικά κόμικς ήταν από ελάχιστες εως ανύπαρκτες. Επομένως μου δημιουργήθηκε το εύλογο ερώτημα: “Πότε ξεκίνησαν να δημιουργούνται κόμικς στην Ελλάδα;”Μέσα από κατάλληλη βιβλιογραφία, έρευνα στο πεδίο και συναντήσεις με ανθρώπους του χώρου, κατάφερα να αποκτήσω μια πιο συγκεκριμένη εικόνα. Αποφάσισα λοιπόν να επικεντρωθώ στο παράδειγμα της σειράς κόμικς “Κλασικά Εικονογραφημένα” των εκδόσεων Πεχλιβανίδη (μετέπειτα “Ατλαντίς”). Η συγκεκριμένη σειρά ήταν η πρώτη που τόλμησε να αποστασιοποιηθεί από το αμερικάνικο πρότυπο και να προτείνει νέες οπτικές, τόσο στην εικόνα όσο και στα κείμενα. Στην παρουσίαση αυτή θα εξερευνήσουμε μαζί, αναλύοντας παραδείγματα, τον τρόπο με τον οποίο λειτούργησαν Έλληνες εκδότες και καλλιτέχνες της δεκαετίας του 1950. Στόχος τους ήταν να μεταμορφώσουν μια εως τότε αμερικάνικη σειρά κόμικς (Classics Illustrated) σε κάτι που να απευθύνεται στο ελληνικό κοινό. Το εγχείρημά τους γνώρισε τεράστια εμπορική επιτυχία.

Παρουσίαση του κόμικ «Πόλεμος του Λούκας»

Μέσα από πραγματικά γεγονότα της ζωής του Τζορτζ Λούκας, το κόμικς αυτό παρουσιάζει την αληθινή ιστορία του πώς ο οραματιστής σκηνοθέτης —που σε νεαρή ηλικία σώθηκε από βέβαιο θάνατο— δημιούργησε την εποποιία του Πολέμου των Άστρων. Η κόλαση της διανομής ρόλων, τα εφιαλτικά γυρίσματα, οι κρυφές ερωτικές σχέσεις, οι καβγάδες μεταξύ ηθοποιών, είναι μόνο κάποια από τα άγνωστα παρασκήνια που σχετίζονται με την ταινία. Τώρα, δεκαετίες μετά, ο αναγνώστης μπορεί επιτέλους να γίνει μάρτυρας όλων εκείνων των γεγονότων που γέννησαν μία από τις πιο εμβληματικές ταινίες στην ιστορία του κινηματογράφου.

Ο Πόλεμος του Λούκας είναι μια βουτιά με κομμένη την ανάσα στην άνιση μάχη της δημιουργίας. Συνταρακτικό αλλά και διασκεδαστικό ταυτόχρονα. Ένα απόλυτο «making of», μία απολαυστική ιστορία επιτυχίας, ένας αγώνας θέλησης, αλλά και ένα μάθημα προς τους νεότερους σκηνοθέτες. Πάνω απ’ όλα όμως είναι μία ωδή στη μαγεία της παιδικής ηλικίας και στη δύναμη της επιμονής όταν όλα μοιάζουν χαμένα. Και μας αποδεικνύει πως πάντα θα υπάρχουν άνθρωποι αποφασισμένοι να κυνηγήσουν τα όνειρά τους, ακόμα και αν αυτάβρίσκονται «σε έναν γαλαξία, πολύ μακριά από εδώ». (από το οπισθόφυλλο του βιβλίου)
